At Bondhon-98-Samajkalyan Songstha, we believe that empowering women is essential for creating a just and equitable society. Our Women’s Empowerment Program aims to support and uplift women in Pirgacha, Rangpur by providing them with the resources, education, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through various initiatives, we strive to create an environment where women can realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Current Activities:
- Skill Development Workshops: We organize workshops that focus on teaching women various skills such as tailoring, handicrafts, and computer literacy. These workshops are designed to enhance their employability and open up new avenues for income generation.
- Entrepreneurship Support: Our program provides aspiring women entrepreneurs with the training, resources, and mentorship they need to start and grow their businesses. We also facilitate access to microfinance options to help them secure the necessary capital.
- Education and Literacy Programs: Recognizing the importance of education, we run literacy programs for women and girls who have had limited access to formal education. These programs cover basic literacy, numeracy, and life skills, empowering them to lead more independent lives.
- Health and Well-being Initiatives: We conduct health awareness campaigns and provide access to healthcare services specifically for women. This includes reproductive health education, prenatal and postnatal care, and nutritional guidance.
Future Plans:
- Leadership Development: We plan to introduce leadership training programs to encourage women to take on leadership roles in their communities. These programs will focus on building confidence, public speaking skills, and community organizing abilities.
- Vocational Training Centers: Establishing vocational training centers in various parts of Pirgacha to provide continuous skill development opportunities. These centers will offer courses in a wide range of fields, from agriculture to technology.
- Advocacy and Legal Support: To address issues of gender-based violence and discrimination, we aim to set up advocacy groups and provide legal support to women in need. This will include legal counseling, support during legal proceedings, and awareness campaigns about women’s rights.
